After having been arrested for posession of drugs on February 25th, George Michael issued this statement in a timely manner on February 27th:

"I have been through enough in 24 years of dealing with the media to know what I am in for from them this week. Much of it will be inaccurate or simply untrue. I can handle that, it is my own stupid fault, as usual.

I was in possession of Class C drugs which is an offence and I have no complaints about the police who were professional throughout.
The only thing I care about is that people know that I was properly tested by the police doctor on Saturday night, who stated to the officers present that I was not impaired in any way and should be allowed to drive home.

In fact, the only reason I didn't drive home was that the police accidentally immobilized my car when they parked it.
The duty solicitor very kindly gave me a lift home.

PS: I promise I won't make a record out of this one - even though it is tempting - "

Club GOSSIP is a once a month 80s new wave video party every first Saturday of the month. It is the only club in the Bay Area that you can dance along with/to your favorite 80s videos. One room is devoted entirely to videos that accompany the 80s hits as you used to see them on MTV a long long time ago. With two huge video screens and an inexhaustible and totally awesome library of the authentic 80's videos, Club Gossip is quickly becoming one of the more prominent parties.

Each month is dedicated to a memorable 80s figure or party theme of some sort. Examples of past tributes are Madonna, Smiths/Morrissey, Prince, Soft Cell and George Michael, with a future tribute to Ian Curtis and Joy Division in the month of May. When featuring an artist, they play more than the usual amount of songs by that artist, but do not bore the whole party with nothing but the featured artist. A Video Montage courtesy of Channel One Video adds to the ambiance of the theme in the front room.

Club Gossip was started by Randy (of Rocket) and Damon (of Bondage-a-Go-Go and 1984). They wanted to create a party that did something new and fun that everyone could enjoy. They strive every month to provide their clientele with a wide range of rotating guest star DJ's, like– Gina Shock (of the Go-Go's), Low Life (New Wave City), Nako (Popscene and Shutter), and Omar (Leisure and Shutter) so the playlist never gets stale or tired. The resident DJ's, Damon, Melting Girl (Death Guild and 1984), and Shon (Rocket) play their favorite 80's New Wave music in a unpretentious manor all the while keeping the dancefloor plenty busy.

The Cat Club hosts this party every first Saturday of the month. There are two rooms of dancing, two full bars, and a smoking area. In addition, there are monthly drink specials. The “clientele” ranges from gay, straight, bi, and tranny. The party is not geared to anyone specific, just for everyone to enjoy. The rooms fill up fairly quickly, we think being free before 10pm has something to do with that, yet the crowd is so congenial that you can easily maneuver through the crowd, people are pretty kind and respectful at Club GOSSIP.

The March 4 Club GOSSIP, the General Manager of Cat Club, Randy, will be celebrating 2nd 30th birthday. Full disclosure, he like to get crazy on his birthday, so watch out.

Saturday March 4th Club Gossip presents: ICONS

Tribute 2:
Erasure/Bronski Beat/Morrissey /Queen/Judas Priest/
George Michael/Boy George

01:51 2005-12-01
George Michael is to marry his long-term partner, he has revealed.
The singer said he and Kenny Goss, his lover of nine years, hope to hold a small, private ceremony sometime early in the New Year, after gay civil partnerships become legal in Britain next month.

He said: "I'm sure Kenny and I will be doing the old legal thing, but we won't be doing the whole veil and gown thing. It'll be relatively soon after it comes in, probably early next year."

Michael, 42, who was speaking after the premiere last night of a new documentary about his career, has also signalled the end of his feud with Sir Elton John following one of the most public pop rows of recent years.

He said he would attend the civil partnership ceremony of Sir Elton and David Furnish next month, one of the first following the introduction of the Civil Partnership Act, reorts This is London.

According to Rolling Stone, the union became possible when the United Kingdom passed the Civil Partnerships Bill last year, giving same-sex couples the right to have legally binding partnerships and entitling them to some of the same tax and pension protections available to married couples.

Michael is the second British rocker to announce marriage plans under the new legislation: Elton John, 58, confirmed that he and partner David Furnish, 43, will wed in a private ceremony on December 21st, the first day same-sex unions become legal in England.
